Laundry Timer http://www.kstroke.com/projects/nerdy/laundry_timer.php Steve Song - kstroke@kstroke.com ============================= Installation ============================= OS: Windows Windows Media Player: Version 9 or greater Google Desktop Version: 3 Double-click on Laundry Timer.msi to install the plug-in. Uninstall the plug-in through the Add or Remove Programs action in the Windows control panel. ============================= Usage ============================= To set the cycle time for your washer and dryer, open the panel's menu and select Options. Here, you can also choose to play a sound when a machine is done. To start a washer or dryer, open the panel's menu and select Start Washer or Start Dryer. To stop and reset a running timer, select Clear Washer Timer or Clear Dryer Timer. (Note: The panel may sometimes seem to lose your click when a cycle is close to its finish time. This is because the panel is refreshed more frequently when it is close to done. Try your action again and it will probably work.) To show text notifications when a machine is done, open the Sidebar menu, select Customize Alerts, and check the Laundry Timer. To see more detailed information about your laundry, click on the panel to show the Details View. Click on the Details View title to search for information on how to do laundry. Minimize the panel to save space in the Sidebar while still seeing basic information about your laundry. ============================= Known Issues ============================= Minimizing and maximizing the Sidebar while running timers causes multiple sound alerts and notification messages upon completion. This is a bug with Google Desktop Sidebar and does not affect the performance of the timers. If you stop/start a timer when this happens, you will notice that only one of the n messages will update its status properly. The panel in the Sidebar will always show the correct and current information.
